THE PURPOSE OF THIS WEBSITE
In the current context, having a professional website is essential. This space not only serves as a platform to share my work but also as a means of transparent and accessible communication with the scientific community, students, and the general public. As a public employee and scientist, it is crucial to maintain a policy of transparency in all my activities. Science should be accessible and understandable to everyone. Through this website, I adhere to the principle of transparency, allowing anyone interested to gain an in-depth understanding of my work, the results of my research, and the impact of my work on society. Transparency fosters trust and respect for scientific work. By openly sharing my achievements, methodologies, and results, I contribute to a culture of responsibility and professional ethics. This website reflects my commitment to science, education, and the continuous improvement of my professional skills.

WHAT I DO
Currently, I teach in the degree program of Translation and Interpretation, in the Master’s in Translation for International Communication (MTCI)― University Master’s Excellence Mention by Xunta de Galicia and European Master’s in Translation (EMT) from the Directorate General for Translation of the European Commission―, in the Master’s in Education Secondary Education, Bachillerato, Vocational Training, and Language Teaching and in the Specialist Degree in Translation for the Video Game Industry (ETIV). Additionally, I also teach seminars for doctoral students in the Translation & Paratranslation program (T&P). The ETIV was my original idea, which I presented to my colleagues Jose Yuste Frías and Ramón Méndez in 2018. It remains active, attracting students from many parts of the world. We created this program because we believed it necessary to offer a degree that provides comprehensive training in all areas of the video game industry, with the goal of training specialists in the professional practice of translation and interpretation within this strategic market sector.
In this context, in 2022 we launched the ETIV-Uvigo Awards, an initiative that has become a fundamental extension of this pioneering training project. These awards aim to recognize talent and excellence in the translation and localization of video games. With a total of eight categories, three are specifically dedicated to the localization of video games into Galician, Catalan, and Basque, promoting the use and visibility of the regional languages of Spain in this strategic sector. Through these awards, we reaffirm our commitment to the comprehensive training of professionals and the promotion of linguistic diversity in the digital realm.
